Cosplay Season

Published by midnightanxiety under Anime

Time has been flying fast.  Before I knew it, there’s a number of cosplay events lined up.  I have to choose which to attend.  This one I already talked to some people I know, and they’ll be there.  Maybe me too…

Sey-bah

Published by midnightanxiety under Anime, Friends, Fun, Work

I was by the Americas team early this week and was admiring J’s action of Fate/Stay Night’s Saber, when he said that he had one extra and if I wanted to make an offer.  So this found its way to my desk two days after.

It comes with two swords, the visible and the invisible (glass) excalibur.  The coolest thing I spent one grand on Hehe :-D

Cosplay Madness

Published by midnightanxiety under Anime, Fun

There are very few people who could be more fun than cosplayers.  They’ve gathered again in this year’s Cosplay Mania.  I went there with a number of fellow photog hobbyists.  Go to my galleries to see all 125 of my photos :-)

Saw some of the faces from Anicon, some in fact have been acquaintances since then.

But there were a lot of new ones too…

This girl had the cutest Sakura costume and knew how to work it hehehe.  I especially liked the pair of Sailor Senshis. :-)

The costumes were not just Anime inspired, some were American.

J, Sean and I (we work in the firm together) ended the evening discussing lenses and camera stuff over dinner.  I love fun Sundays :-)

If you guys want the original sizes of the pics here and in the gallery, just contact me. :-)  Again, the link to my galleries is here

Anicon Fun

Published by midnightanxiety under Anime, Friends, Fun

I swear, these days I find myself working harder on my off-days.  Haays.  But going to Anicon is really fun :-D

(You can see the gallery here)

The venue is smaller, not like the previous events I went to.  But I met some cool people.  This time around, I also had some photography enthusiast friends (my old friend Hiram and Emir whom I just met that day) with me.  I actually learned a thing or two from them. :-)

Since my midnightanxiety.com business cards are now out, I was able to give to some of the people in my pics.  I told them to check out the site for their pics.

To the people in the pics, it was great to meet you!  If you want the original size or prints, just email or text me!  Anyhow, you can get to the galleries by clicking here or any of the pics.

Slumber

Published by midnightanxiety under Anime

I decided to take a two-day vacation leave (Thursday to Friday).  That means that I will be back by Monday.  I don’t know if you could call this a vacation.  It’s more like a working vacation for me.  I truly did not intended it to be that way, but what the heck.

Anyway, I leave you all with this anime artwork of one of my guilty-pleasures.  Have a great weekend everyone!

Phantasia

Published by midnightanxiety under Anime

One of the DVDs I got in my bucket right now is Tales of Phantasia.  I haven’t watched it yet but my brother did and he says it’s nice.

talesofphantasia.JPG

Tales of Phantasia is a Super Famicom game in the RPG genre published by Namco and released in Japan in 1995. It is the first game in the Tales RPG series and was later remade on the PlayStation, Nintendo Game Boy Advance and PlayStation Portable. This game was originally developed by Wolf Team. It was written and programmed by Yoshiharu Gotanda, designed by Masaki Norimoto and scored by Motoi Sakuraba and Shinji Tamura. The character designs were created by mangaka Kosuke Fujishima. An anime series based on the game has also been created.

I think I played this on Playstation or SNES.

You guys might want to check it out. :-)

The Oddity of Truth

The one greatest thing about the past is that, while it is something that cannot be changed or undone, it is simply what it is - the fact.  Basically the truth in its simplest form.

That’s why I always stand by the truth, and just constantly ask the Universe for revelation and clarity.  You see, whatever happens, facts stay in a vacuum.  It does not do flip flops just because people change sides.  People can try to lie and try to twist it as best as they can.  Believe me, I’ve met some of the biggest liars that you wouldn’t wanna meet in your lifetime.  But the truth exists way beyond where mere mortals can affect to corrupt and twist them.

But of course, the person caught in his own lies has no other recourse but to act like the wounded victim, when what he’s truly become is a master manipulator of the people he supposedly loves.

Just a thought…  If you want to watch something that demonstates how truth can seem malleable but truly stays unscathed in the end, do get a copy of the Anime Kaze No Stigma.

Painfully Silent

The weekend became uneventful for me, finally after a few months of events and out-of-town trips.  Partially not my choice though.  I didn’t receive any text that something was up.  I know I should’ve texted, but just the same, an unpleasant thought came to me that I was not missed at all.

I finished the rest of the Slayers DVD.  My brother then lent me a 2 DVD set of the Dark Law Chapters.  It’s has quite a dark theme but features great animation and characters.

The character I like most is Misato Aoi, the girl on the lower left the picture.

She appeared to be the least powerful of the bunch, but that was not the case at the latter part of the series.  I guess I’m drawn to underdogs, who come up leading in the end.

Maybe I’ll buy some more DVDs on Friday.  Suggestions on what to get, anyone?

Update

Maybe this weekend will also be a silent one, but on my own terms.  Hmmm, maybe I’ll get some TV series DVDs from a few years ago like Mutant X and Buffy.

Don’t get me wrong.  I don’t, or I can’t blame anyone for this.  Maybe I’ve become too dependent on other people, and I don’t think it’s healthy for me.  At least now I know that I should go back to my old ways a bit.  Find that balance.
